Cookie consent

The banner, essential vs non-essential cookies, and how to change your consent.

Updated 2026-04-13 · By Jon Lasley

The cookie consent banner appears at the bottom of every page on first visit and stays until you choose. It divides cookies into essentials (always set) and non-essentials (opt-in).

Essential cookies

  • Session: your login session. Cannot be disabled; without it you can't use Prompt Assay.
  • Active workspace: a signed cookie that remembers which workspace you're currently viewing. Required for workspace scoping; clearing it returns you to your personal workspace.
  • Theme: remembers your light/dark preference. Trivially functional, classified essential.

Non-essential cookies

Currently: none. Prompt Assay doesn't run third-party analytics or advertising pixels. If we ever add product analytics, they'll be gated by the non-essential consent toggle in the banner.

Changing your consent

The banner re-appears if you clear cookies. There's no dedicated settings page for consent yet. Clear the pa:cookie-consent key in your browser to see the banner again.
